Ontario’s Express Entry stream issued Invitations to HCP and Skilled Trade Stream
The popular province of Ontario has issued new Notifications of Interest (NOI) under the Human Capital Priorities Stream (HCP). The number of applicants given NOI is 185 in number. This new draw took place on November 26, 2018.
The invitations are issued to the applicants who are already there in the express entry pool and meet the HCP stream criteria and also have a valid job offer letter from an employer operating in the province of Ontario.
The popular Express Entry linked stream of HCP has invited applicants after a longer wait of August 9, 2018 draw.
All the Express Entry candidates invited in November 26 draw had CRS score range 350-448 along with a valid job offer in Ontario province. A tie break rule has been applied which means that the applicants who have submitted their profiles on January 1, 2018 to November 22, 2018 before the time bracket of 1:13 PM EST were given Notification of Interest (NOI) in this current draw.
The OINP announced that this “targeted search was done to help Ontario meet its labour market and economic development priorities, as well as to be more responsive to employer needs.”
Previously, Ontario province has policy of minimum requirements of CRS score for candidates which is 400 CRS on an active Express Entry profile. This former requirement of at least 400 CRS is not pertinent in the current draws as of now.
The Human Capital Stream (HCP) under Ontario’s PNP examines the federal express entry pool for applicants who meet the provincial and federal criteria such as 400 CRS and skilled experience in a Job profile in demand in the province and invite them for provincial nomination for permanent residency of Canada. The selected applicants who manage to receive provincial nomination from Ontario become eligible to apply for an additional point score of 600 points towards the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. This additional point score has the ability to moves the applicant’s chances of getting Invitation to Apply for permanent residence in the subsequent draws.
The OINP currently offers three Express Entry streams namely, The Human Capital Priorities Stream which has given 3,719 invitations. Another stream in the lead is the French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream which invited about 1,519 applicants till now and the Skilled Trades Stream which invited 1,626 applicants.
The Ontario PNP has now conducted four draws through its Human Capital Priorities Stream, three of these draws aiming to nominate the express entry candidates while fourth targeted Express Entry candidates who are having a reasonable proficiency in French language.
Ontario also issued new invitations through its Express Entry – Skilled Trade Stream and French Speaking Skilled Worker Stream in the latest draw.
It issued new invitations under Skilled Trade Stream to 181 applicants. The applicants under Skilled Trade stream who have successfully given their express entry profiles on January 1, 2018 to November 26, 2018 till 8:54 AM EST were considered for notification of interests in this draw.
Ontario’s skilled trade stream is for candidates currently living in the province of Ontario temporally on a non-permanent visa with a minimum of at least one year full-time work experience or equivalent in part-time work, in a skilled trade laid down by the province. The candidates under Skill Trade stream must also meet the eligibility set for the federal Canadian Experience Class.
In addition to these, Ontario also issued 43 invitations under Federal French Speaking Skilled Worker Stream on November 22, 2018. This stream has been tremendously inviting skilled applicants and is active in this year with many draws conducted at regular intervals (every week). The candidates with strong language abilities (a minimum CLB 6) are invited for this stream in the November draw.
